- 中文說明:本件白布青花肚兜，上端與肚腹口袋上方兩端、口袋中間等各有一隻公雞的圖案，總計四隻公雞，雞鳴是功名的表徵，雞與〝吉〞音又同，四與〝賜〞音同，雞走在地上也取〝及第〞的諧音。
- 日文說明:白地の青い花腹掛け、上端と腹のポケット上方の両側と中間に合わせて四羽の雄鶏図案を刺繍してある。鶏鳴は功名の象徴で、又鶏は吉と同音、四は〈賜〉と同音で、鶏が地上を漁って〈及第〉を得るという意味を音でなぞったもの。
- 英文說明:The upper half as well as the areas on and above the pocket of this green-on-white halter top are decorated with roosters. The call of a chicken represents official rank and the word for chicken (“ji”) sounds similar to a word for “luck.” The word “four” (there are four chickens) is homophonous to a character meaning “bestow.” What's more, the two-character phrase “jidi” (“chicken on the ground”) is similar to another phrase meaning to “pass the imperial examinations.”
