Quedius chi occurs in forest habitats at high mountain elevations over 3000 m. Specimens were collected in Abies forests by sifting various forest floor debris, rotting bark around dead trees and moss mixed with grasses and other vegetation. In all character states similar to Q. goang and different mainly by the character states of the aedeagus. Q. chi is best recognized by the shape of the aedeagus, particularly by the fairly wide paramere covering most of the apical portion of the the median lobe of the aedeagus, in combination with the distinctly darkened medial faces of hind tibiae. Head in general slightly smaller and less wider than long. Antenna in general slightly shorter, with outer segments about as long as wide to slightly wider than long. So far, there is only one reference. The description based on the original description of Smetana (1995).Quedius chi
