- 中文說明:箱是盛放衣物的傢俱，竹編叫笥，木作叫箱，本件為木胎蒙皮的皮箱，外皮並髹塗表徵富貴的牡丹圖案，容量大而且嚴密，是外出旅行攜帶的存物工具，過去婚嫁，都需要必備幾個，作陪嫁或添妝。
- 日文說明:箱は衣物などを入れる家具。竹で編んだものを笥と云い、木で作ったのが箱。この品は木の本体を皮で覆ったトランク。外皮の漆塗りは富貴を表徴する牡丹図案で、容量は大きく密閉したもの、旅行などに携帯の荷物を入れる。昔の花嫁道具に必ず持参するもの。
- 英文說明:Trunks, made of either woven bamboo or wood, were used to hold clothing. This leather case is adorned with peonies, representing wealth and social position. Both large and well made, this case was used to carry things when traveling. In the past, several trunks of this sort were required to transport a bride's dowry and other belongings when she married.
