- 中文說明:龜甲笠是由兩層竹編夾竹葉和油紙而成，形狀若烏龜的背甲，農民在耕田時，有的兩腳跪在田中，頭朝地背朝天，下雨時則披龜甲笠以避雨水淋濕身體，但人在田中耕田除草時，披上龜甲笠好像烏龜在田裡爬相似，是農村特有的景色。本件龜甲笠表面已有數處破損。
- 日文說明:この笠は両層の竹編みの中に竹の葉と油紙を挟んで造った、亀の背中の形の笠。農民が田畑で膝をついて這って仕事をする時、背中に打ちつける雨を遮る道具。その時の農民の姿は亀に似ている。農村特有の景色である。この品の表面がやや破損。
- 英文說明:This turtle shell shaped rain hat consists of two layers and was made from woven bamboo strips, bamboo leaves, and oilpaper. When working in the fields, farmers would kneel in the paddies, heads facing downwards and their backs facing the sky. When it rained, they would put on a turtle shell shaped rain hat to keep themselves for getting wet and resembled turtles crawling around in the fields. This item has holes in several places.
