英文說明:This is a pair of embroidered, upturned, single-ridged, hook shoes. The soles are bordered with the color of chrysanthemums in cloudlike stitches (referred to as “ruyi yuntou”—literally, “as one wishes clouds” which is similar in sound to other characters meaning “luck”) and large lotus flowers which symbolize hope that “things continue to go as ones wishes.” These were worn by Hakka women, who did not practice the custom of foot binding, when going out or taking part in celebrations. Shoes could be worn on either foot.
