英文說明:Taiwan is an island and, as such, temperatures vary greatly throughout the day. To prevent children from catching colds, an extra flap was added to the backs of their hats. These hats were referred to as “wind hats.” The front of these hats were adorned with embroidered designs inferring wealth and social position or long life, such as chrysanthemums or the character for long life. This hat was probably given to a child by its grandparents on the mother's side when it reached one month or one year of age.
