石渠寶笈三編(延春閣),第六冊,頁2685-2686&*1.〈清王武牡丹〉,收入國立故宮博物院編輯委員會編,《牡丹名畫特展圖錄》(臺北:國立故宮博物院,1987年四月初版),頁42。&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁166&*故宮書畫圖錄,第二十九冊,頁122-127&*王武(西元一六三二-一六九○年),江蘇長洲人。字勤中,號忘庵,自稱雪顛道人。家富收藏,精鑑賞,所寫花鳥極有生趣。王時敏常讚曰:「近代寫生家多畫院氣,獨吾勤中所作,神韻生動,應在妙品中。」,與惲壽平同屬清初著名的花鳥畫家,人或以沈周,陳淳擬之。 本幅選自「名人畫扇」貳冊,迨以沒骨法兼寫意之筆趣寫粉朱牡丹,花葉間用花青、汁綠、淺絳諸色,畫枝則輔以赭石或汁綠,敷彩生動,鉤筋俱見骨力,於明豔富麗中未失清逸之氣。 &* This painting has been selected from the two-volume album Famous Painted Fans. A pink peony is freely sketched in the “boneless” style. The petals and leaves are alternately flower-blue, green and light crimson; the branches, umber and green. The coloring is vivacious and the outlining of the veins provides structure. The blossoms are floridly sumptuous yet elegant. Wang Wu (style name, Ch’in-chung; sobriquets Wang-an and Hsűeh-tien-tao-jen) was from a wealthy family of collectors and connoisseurs in Ch’ang-chou, Kiangsu. His paintings of flowers and birds are full of vitality. Wang Shih-min once praised him thus: “Nowadays most artists who paint from life are mere academicians; only your works, Ch’in-chung, are animated and lively and can be considered masterpieces of flower painting.” Along with Yűn Shou-p’ing, he is one of the most famous early Ch’ing artists of the flower-and-bird genre of painting. His works are often mistaken for those of Shen Chou and Ch’en Ch’un.
