英文說明:Winnowers use a revolving fan to produce a strong wind and thereby remove impurities from the grain. These winnowers were very common and most farm households owned one. Since the winnowers were large objects in popular use they have not been well preserved. A large winnower had thirteen parts. These included the fan blades, chamber, cabinet, frame, feet, hands, hopper, primary and secondary sieves, cover, opening, and screen. Each piece is made of a different material. For example, the chamber is made of camphor wood, and other parts are made of Machilus japonica. The hands are made of iron, but other hard parts are of Michelia formosana wood. This example was made in Sunghsingtong at Tsaotun and is complete.
