- 中文說明:牛嘴籠又稱牛口罩。牛嘴籠有竹子編的也有用鐵絲結的。牛嘴籠依牛的大小而編製，大的牛嘴大就編大籠，小的牛嘴小就編小籠。牛嘴籠套在牛嘴上，在行進稻田邊時，可防止牛吃田裡的稻子，或路邊菜，若牛吃了別人的稻子，牛的主人是要受罰的。本件文物完整。
- 日文說明:「牛嘴籠」と称し、竹で編んだものと、鉄線で結んだものがあり、牛の大小によって編製し、牛の口に被せて、作業中牛が稲田の稲を食べるのを防ぐ、又は道端の野菜や他人の植物を食べるのを防ぐ
- 英文說明:Cattle muzzles were made of woven bamboo or of iron wire. Their construction varied depending on the size of the cattle involved. Larger muzzles were made for larger oxen, and smaller ones for smaller individuals. Cattle were muzzled when being turned out in the fields in order to prevent them eating the crops or plants by the roadside. If an animal ate another person's crops, the owner had to pay a fine. The example displayed here is complete.
