石渠寶笈續編(乾清宮),第二冊,頁784&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁155&*故宮書畫圖錄,第二十七冊,頁186-187&*金廷標(約西元十八世紀)字士揆,浙江吳興人。乾隆南巡時,進呈白描羅漢畫冊,極受皇帝賞識。因而引入內廷為供奉。擅長於畫史實風俗人物。金廷標在乾隆朝畫院當中,是用筆勁挺,接近浙派畫畫風的一名畫家。他用筆生硬而有力,與當時的院手迥不相同,而也很受乾隆的欣賞。這幅畫畫著兩個牧童,分騎在兩頭牛上,一人吹笛,一人鼓掌。在林蔭溪邊,逍遙而自得其樂。&*Chin T’ing-piao was a native of Wu-hsing, Chekiang province. His tzu (style name) was Shih-k’uei, his birth and death dates are unknown. During Emperor Ch’ien-lung’s inspection tour of the south in 1760 Chin presented to the court an album of Lohans painted in the pai-miao (ink-outline) manner. Consequently he was summoned to continue on as a court painter. Chin’s extant paintings date from between 1760-1767. He excelled at figure painting, but is also known for his flowers, landscapes and architectural paintings. By a bank, thick with grass, is a grove of trees. Grass and leaves and distant trees are depicted with a wet brush. The variance of ink tones from deep to light is effectivd. Two young herdsboys sit atops their respective oxen. One plays the flute, the other claps his hands to the rhythm. The two oxen are comfortable and at ease. The musical sounds of the picture are deep and resonant and together with the scenery provide a pure and remote feeling.
