石渠寶笈初編(養心殿),上冊,頁671&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁539&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十冊,頁349-350&*1.江兆申,〈清王原祁烟浮遠岫圖〉,收入胡賽蘭編,《清王原祁畫山水畫軸特展》(臺北:國立故宮博物院,1997年初版),頁135-136。 &* 王原祁,江蘇太倉人(西元一六四二至一七一五)時敏之孫。字茂京,號麓臺,康熙庚戌進士,歷官少司農。畫由家學,遠邁時倫,為清四大家之一。 本幅以水墨皴擦,只見岡陵堆疊,渾厚華茲。王原祁山水畫的特色,在於結構謹嚴,境界蒼茫,此幅亦足以當之。 此圖無年款。按王原祁中晚年時服官中樞,每有應詔之作,年六十四即奉詔,纂輯佩文齋書畫譜。另又主持「萬壽盛典圖」之製作。 &*Floating Mist and Distant Mountains Wang Yűan-ch’i (1642-1715) Ch’ing Dynasty Wang Yűan-ch’i’s landscapes, of which this undated painting is a good example, are characterized by well-constructed compositions with rich surface textures as well as by scenes having a certain sense of vastness, even bleakness. Wang Yűan-ch’i (whose style-name was Mao-ching and sobriquet, Lu-t’ai) was a native of T’ai-ts’ang, Kiangsu. He was a grandson of the noted artist and collector Wang Shih-min. In 1670 he received his Advanced Degree and later served in several high official positions. Wang learned to paint from having grown up in the refined artistic atmosphere of his family, and his style surpassed that of his contemporaries. He was included among the “Four Great Masters of the Ch’ing Dynasty.” In his middle years, Wang served in the central government, where he was also very active in painting and often worked by imperial command. At the age of sixty-four he compiled the Pei-wen-chai shu-hua pu, an annotated catalogue of calligraphy and painting. He also took charge of the production of the depiction of the K’ang-hsi Emperor’s birthday celebration.
