故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁422 &*故宮書畫圖錄,第八冊,頁29-30&*1.王耀庭、張華芝,〈明陸治玉蘭〉,收入王耀庭、張華芝編,《明陸治作品展覽圖錄》(臺北:國立故宮博物院,1992年初版),頁78-79。 &*此幅以玉蘭花為主體,一桿勁竹作陪襯,用色只取赭墨、花青,已覺氣質高雅出於天然。陸治運用靈活的筆觸,鉤畫出玉蘭花柔嫩純潔的風采,又以堅挺的線條雙鉤竹桿、竹葉,剛柔相濟調和得恰到好處。從畫幅上方題詞看來,可知玉蘭花的潔白和竹子的堅韌在此賦有深一層的意義,陸治可能藉此抒懷,將個人的理想投射在筆墨中。&*The centerpiece of this work is a branch of magnolia blossoms with stems of bamboo growing behind it. Using just ochre and light blue, Lu imparted a sense of not only elegance but also naturalness. He used his deft brushwork to outline the pure and tender blossoms of the magnolia, which contrast with the coarse branch bark and the sharp brushwork of the bamboo leaves and stems. The result is a perfect balance between hard and soft. The content of the poem written by Lu in the upper left corner indicates that he took the purity of magnolia blossoms and resilience of bamboo as a metaphor for moral integrity and perseverance. Using brush and ink, Lu may have thus chosen this subject as a vehicle for his feelings and ideals.&* 陸治(西元一四九六-一五七六年),明吳縣(今江蘇蘇州)人。字叔平,居包山,因號包山子。倜儻嗜義,以孝友稱。好為詩及古文辭,善行、楷,尤精通繪事。遊祝允明、文徵明門,其於丹青之學,務出其胸中奇,以與古人角勝。主寫生,點染花石,往往天造。 本幅畫玉蘭花一株,赭墨畫枝幹,墨筆鈎花,筆極流暢。後附有綠竹一枝,雙鈎填以花青,疏朗中頗見瀟灑意。 &*Lu Chih was a native of Suchou, Kiangsu. He was an unconventional but moral man, well-known for his loyalty and sense of duty to his friends and parents. He was an excellent poet, essayist, calligrapher and painter, and an acquaintance of the leading cultural figures of Suchou at the time, Chu Yün-ming and Wen Cheng-ming. Lu chih’s paintings have a distinct, individual style; his sketches from life, particularly flowers and rocks, are perfectly natural. A stalk of magnolias is described, a sketchy brush delineating the outlines of the flowers. Green bamboo emerges behind, painted in the double-outline mode. The imagery is relaxed.
