- 中文摘要:在現代化社會下的今天，臺灣民間信仰，從早期的移墾到現在的生根，在這樣一段變遷的歷程中，我們看到了臺灣民間信仰在臺灣社會是有相當大的適應與彈性。它並沒有因著在不同時期的政治、環境等的變遷中而消失，仍是現今社會中大部份人的信仰中心。但是，在今日的臺灣社會中，臺灣民間信仰雖然仍保有其存在的空間。可是，在面對現代化的變遷下，它不得不做出些回應，來更進一步的維持或發展其信仰。也因此，本論文嘗試藉由透過一個寺廟來做為主軸，並且來探討代表傳統的地方寺廟如何在維持著傳統既有的模式下，在現代化的社會中持續的發展。 本論文所探討的對象，主要以位於林口鄉的竹林山觀音寺為主，所以在本篇論文中筆者首先從林口地區在地理環境及行政區域劃分部分來著手進行，並說明有關林口地區在整個村落分布上的變遷，希望透過這樣一種行政區塊的變遷可以對該信仰在發展的始末上有所認知。其次，筆者試著對位於該地區內的主要信仰—竹林山觀音寺在信仰分布上的一個概況來做闡述。除了有關竹林山觀音寺本身的信仰分布外，筆者亦對林口地區及其周遭地區在信仰分布的概括上來略做說明。接著，筆者採取田野記錄的方式來說明目前有關竹林山觀音寺這三個層面在信仰上的現況；如各區域內之組織概況、慶典內容、儀式過程等…等。而在參與田野調查的過程中，筆者發現了臺灣民間信仰在其信仰的維持上與現代社會在互動的腳步上，關係是相當密切的。所以，由此筆者認為，臺灣民間信仰在現今臺灣社會的發展上，與現代化是不該被劃開來做討論的。 而回顧目前有關臺灣民間信仰在研究的範疇上來做對照，筆者所做之研究並非有何創新之處；如本文中所提出的在組織層面上的問題思考，在目前已有的相關研究上如：寺廟組織與管理、神明會、媽祖會等或是由地方所出之社團等，都有相當豐碩且傑出的專書、論文來出版。但是以本篇論文中所研究的主題—竹林山觀音寺的觀音佛祖信仰來看，當一個信仰在歷經了幾十年或是幾百年的時空，到今天仍持續的維持下來，這中間所牽涉到的，除了該廟在組織的形成上有所調整外，更為重要的因素乃在於廟方這些組織的主事者或執事人員在應對上有著極為靈活的手腕，來促成個信仰由往昔到今日，除了在維持即有的傳統外，更加的使其信仰來擴展。 另一方面，就本文所提出之第二個討論面向，有關信仰與現代化之間的關係，對臺灣民間信仰的研究來說，更不是一個陌生的問題。因為在現代的社會中，臺灣民間信仰在各地的發展上，無一不隨著當地所固有的特色來針對現代化社會的變遷而來做出改變。但是，對臺灣民間信仰來說，也就是這樣一種在不同地方發展上、風俗上、地理環境上…等諸多面向的不同，使得在彼此的影響與互動上也有所不同。而本論文所探討的這一個北臺灣大型的觀音佛祖信仰，其位置正處於臺灣現代化發展最為快速的臺北市近郊。在這樣的情形下，該信仰或是說代表該信仰的廟方本身，如何面對這樣的環境來做出回應，或許可以更有助於讓我們對民間信仰在與現代化的互動上有更多的了解與認識。
- 英文摘要:Under the modernized society. Taiwan Folk Belief, From China to Taiwan , roots and development. In this process, we saw Taiwan Folk Belief had the more adaption and the elasticity in the Taiwan society. It didn’t disappear with the different leader of politics and environmental vicissitude and so on. Now, it still the most important belief in the Taiwanese people. Although, Taiwan Folk Belief had existence space. But it must do some response for keeps it’s belief and development. Therefore, the author try to study the local temple; a tradition cultural representation, how keeps his existence peace and continues expand in the modernized society. In this paper, the studies object is Chu Lin San Buddhism temple. So far as Chu Lin San Buddhism temple is concerned, It’s most belief center in Linkou. Therefore, the first, author try to study the history of Linkou, include the change of geographical environment and the administrative division. This step can help us understand the begging and development. Next, the author tries to make the elaboration in a belief distribution survey of Chu Lin San Buddhism temple. Besides the belief distribution of Chu Lin San Buddhism temple itself, the author also suffers the area to the Linkou area and its the week slightly to give the explanation in the belief distributed summary. In addition, the author adopts the field recording the way to explain the present related of Chu Lin San Buddhism temple. It has three stratification planes in belief present situation; If in various regions organization survey, celebration content, ceremony process and so on... And so on. But in this process of field investigation, the author had discovered the Taiwan folk belief at in its belief maintenance and the modern society on the interaction footsteps, the relations is quite close. Therefore, the Taiwan folk belief in the nowadays Taiwan society's development, is should not cut with the modernization does the discussion, but this also is the present paper must attempt makes the discussion the most main goal.
