英文摘要:Attempt to present a temporal-dimension image, this study, firstly, starts from a general description of the historical context of Xi-gua-yuan (西瓜園) village. Then, skipping over to the physical spatial environment of the existing settlement, in terms of reviewing historical events and documents, the study examines the whole transformation process of the spatial environment throughout the temporal flow. The economic structure, which the agricultural villages depend on as the primal means for living is used as the principal axis to link the transformation process of the spatial construction. Lastly, by means of the five cases of the various house forms and life experiences, I attempt to analyze and interpret the transformation process of the construction of the residential houses and the development process of the lifeworld. The text of this study, which is written in a diachronic way, is used to describe the transitional course of Xi-gua-yuan village. The discussion of the spatial constructional procession and daily life experiences has been also emphasized. Therefore, this study has been separated into six chapters. The first chapter established the theoretical bases to make the discourse clear and to realize the historic context of Xi-gua-yuan village. The second chapter is the “talk about the past” style, which made a historic interpretation from a diachronic viewpoint. The descriptions included as follows: the migration process of the settlement; the reason of naming the place; the spatial form of the village; and the spatial formation influenced by economic structure. The third chapter taking “the view of nowadays”, describes mainly on the base of synchronic viewpoint yet the diachronic angle is also added as the cross reference, to analyze the physical environment and the spatial characteristics of the village. In addition to the previous diachronic analysis of the village, this chapter also has the synchronic description of the transition of the internal structure of the village. The fourth chapter is the “reviewing the process”, which aims to study the discovery of the spatial construction. The level of the form and space is not the only aim of the discussion, but the level of cognition and concept is also included. In other words, the discussion is not emphasized on the physical environment only, the space practices of people while they arrange their residences, the results of the spatial flow in terms of people, capital, and information, and the meanings which result from those spatial practices are also mntincd. The final chapter is the “back to the experiences”, which is to interpret the lifeworld, attempts to take both synchronic and diachronic respects to describe the performance of the daily lifeworld. Thus, it views the performance in historic and daily viewpoints respectively. It also explores unchangeable and definite phenomena of internal experience of daily life. To be the conclusion and the suggestion, this study, by means of the example of the experiences of Xi-gua-yuan village, investigates the inwardness and deciphers the various .phenomena between townships and rural areas.
