龔賢(1619-1689),字半千,號半畝,江蘇崑山人。性孤僻,與人落落難合。工詩文、行草。作山水從董源築基,一變古法,用墨濃厚,自開生面,與樊圻、高岑、鄒喆、吳宏、葉欣、胡慥、謝蓀為金陵八家。 此幅畫春雨過後,雲影瀰漫山際,前景溪岸水流潺潺,遠方村塢掩映於叢樹之間,整體空間結構平穩,深富靜謐和諧的情韻。畫幅上有作者題詩云:「春山如沐雨新晴。處處溪流解凍聲。多少樓臺迎曉日。白頭齊照萬花明。」 傅申先生捐贈於民國98年。(20110204)&* Gong Xian (style name Banqian, sobriquet Banmu) was a native of Kunshan, Jiangsu. Of idiosyncratic character, he often shied away from people. Gong excelled at poetry and semi-cursive calligraphy. When doing landscape painting, he worked on the foundation of Dong Yuan’s style, transforming ancient methods with a heavy use of ink to create a style of his own. Along with Fan Qi, Gao Cen, Zou Zhe, Wu Hong, Ye Xin, Hu Zao, and Xie Sun, he was one of the “Eight Masters of Jinling” (Nanjing). This work depicts a landscape after a spring rain. Clouds and shadows pervade the mountains as a stream flows by banks in the foreground with a village cove concealed in the distance among trees. The entire spatial structure of the composition is smooth and steady, with a richly tranquil and harmonious manner. At the top of the painting is the artist’s poem that reads, “Spring mountains as if washed anew and clearing after rain, everywhere comes the sound of river water thawing. So many buildings look up to the sun shining through, white heads shining orderly on myriad flowers bright.” Mr. Fu Shen donated this painting to the National Palace Museum in 2009.(20110204)
