The stele was engraved in 185 CE and later discovered in the Wanli era (1572-1620) of the Ming. Though now lost, it stood 272cm and 95cm wide, with a total of 830 characters. The elegant beauty of the clerical script here has an untrammeled, elegant ease with an archaic purity and thin quality. The characters are neat and orderly, the original brushwork reserved but with a sense of flow. Fully expressing mature clerical script, it is a masterpiece of elegantly beautiful Han clerical script. This album was donated to the Museum by Messrs. Tann Boyu and Tann Jifu.(20100711)&*1.
