石渠寶笈三編(御書房),第七冊,頁3168&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁100&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十一冊,頁85-86&* 蔣廷錫(西元一六六九-一七三二年),江蘇常熟人。字揚孫,號酉君,又號西谷。官至文華殿大學士,工畫花卉草蟲,以逸筆寫生,沒骨花鳥畫繼承惲壽平風格。 此圖松樹泉石繪法近於「歲寒三友」,畫羊則明顯有西洋畫風,設色穠麗,用筆工細,對於動物身體肌肉的表現,善用塊面立體關係來處理,可能有當時活動於宮廷之外籍畫家參與繪圖。此圖無年款,由其松石筆法來推斷,約成於蔣氏五十至六十歲之時。 &* Chiang T’ing-hsi (style names Yang-sun and Yu-chun; sobriquet Hsi-ku) was a native of Ch’ang-shu. As an official, he rose to the rank of Grand Secretary of the Wen-hua Hall. He also excelled at depicting insects-and-flowers, and he also painted from nature using a spontaneous manner. In terms of bird-and-flower painting in the “boneless” (wash) style, he followed the style of Yun Shou-p’ing (1633-1690). The style of the pines, stream, and slope in this painting is close to that of the “Three Friends of Winter.” The painting manner of the mountain goat, however, has been obviously influenced by Western techniques. The range of colors is opulent and all-encompassing, and the use of brush fine and detailed; the rendering of the body and contours of the goat is based on a close study of anatomy and chiaroscuro. Perhaps it was painted by a Western artist serving in the court at the time. Although this work is undated, the style of the pines and slope suggests it was done in Chiang’s fifties.
