英文說明:“Hebao” (literally, “lotus bud”) was the generic term for all embroidered pouches during the Qing Dynasty. They were carried by both men and women and decorated with auspicious flowers, birds, human figures, or Chinese characters. Secured by fastener, this single-fold money purse was carried concealed inside the clothes. The design on the front of this pouch is composed of objects traditionally indicative of a gentleman, including a “water chestnut” border, bamboo, chrysanthemums, and plums.
