楊万里(1127-1206),字廷秀,號誠齋。吉州吉水(今江西)人。為南宋傑出詩人,風格師法自然,形成獨具特色的「誠齋體」與尤褒、陸游、范成大並稱「南宋中興四大家」。 此劄寫於淳熙十四年四月,受信人為胡達孝。書法呈現個人風格,楊氏雖未以書法見稱,但由其自述書學經歷可知,在書法上廣採諸家,且膺服米芾。南宋中期論書詩中多見楊氏之作,其中多以魏晉鍾王為法,可見南宋時期傳統古典書風及米字之影響。(20101015)&* Yang Wanli (style name Tingxiu, sobriquet Chengzhai) was a native of Jishui, Jizhou (in modern Jiangxi Province). An outstanding poet of the Southern Song, he took Nature as his master and developed an individual approach, forming a unique manner known as the “Chengzhai Style.” Along with You Bao, Lu You, and Fan Chengda, he was one of the “Four Masters of the Southern Song Dynastic Revival.” This note was written in the fourth month of 1187 to Hu Daxiao, the calligraphy reflecting Yang Wanli’s personal manner. Although Yang did not achieve recognition in calligraphy, we know from his account in the study of calligraphy that he learned from a variety of sources, being particularly indebted to Mi Fu’s style.
