石渠寶笈續編(御書房),第四冊,頁2258&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁576&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十四冊,頁51-52&*1.韓北新,〈郎世寧繪畫繫年(二)〉,《故宮文物月刊》,第68期(1988年11月),頁132-133。 &*郎世寧(西元一六八八-一七六六年),義大利人,耶穌會教士,以繪畫供奉內廷。歷仕康熙、雍正、乾隆三朝。畫法參酌中西。 由畫上登題得知,白鷹是由蒙古柯爾沁部落首領達爾馬達都所進貢。郎世寧以光影分明的畫法畫出白鷹身上羽毛的光澤、及鷹架上不同質料織品所造成的不同觸感,並把物像拉近觀者,只露出鷹架的局部,意圖製造出一種生動的臨場感。 &*Lang Shih-ning was an Italian who at the age of 19 became a novitiate of the Jesuit Catholic order. At 27, he arrived in China as a missionary. With an art background, he also painted for the court under the K’ang-hsi, Yung-cheng, and Ch’ien-lung emperors. His style fuses Chinese and Western techniques. The title of this work indicates that this white falcon was presented as tribute from the chief of the Korchin tribe of Mongols. Castiglione used the technique of light and shadow to render different textural qualities suggested by the lustrous plumage of the falcon and the textile draped over the stand upon which the bird is perched. He also moved the focus closer to the viewer, revealing only part of the stand to create a lively effect as if actually there.
