石渠寶笈續編(圓明園),第七冊,頁3918&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁108&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十二冊,頁37-38&* 董邦達(一六九九-一七六九),浙江富陽人。字孚存號東山。雍正癸丑(一七三三)進士,仕至禮部尚書。畫山水從董其昌入手,得元人筆墨精神。 宋元祐間,蘇軾守臨安,築堤湖上,自南山至北山夾道植柳。嗣守林希榜曰:「蘇公堤」。此堤四時景色皆宜,而春日為最。 &* Tung Pang-ta (tzu Fu-ts’un, hao Tung-shun) was a native of Fu-yang, Chekiang Province. He received the chih-shih degree in 1733 and afterward entered the court of Ch’ien-lung emperor. He assisted in the compilation of the imperial catalogue Shih-ch’u pao-chi and later served as minister of the Board of Rites. He started his landscape paintings with Tung Ch’i-ch’ang of the Ming dynasty as his model. He captured the brushwork and elegance of Yuan painting giving his style a clarity and beauty. When Su Shih, better known in the West as Su Tung-p’o (1036-1101), was a major of Lin-an, he built this bank extending from Nan-shan to Pei-shan and planted willow-trees along the bank, which was named after him. The scenic beauty of this bank, though superb throughout the year, is best in spring time.
