秘殿珠林續編(乾清宮),頁118&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁497-498&*故宮書畫圖錄,第九冊,頁261-262&* 趙脩祿,生卒年不詳,字君秩,安徽巢縣人。傳聞他擅長繪事,尤工於畫馬,嘗寫大士像千幅。 畫中羅漢鬚眉描寫生動,左手挽袖,右手持明珠,化為水波,雙腳踏浪,樣態極是精巧,顯得神氣煥發。衣紋的勾勒及線條的描繪,十分清勁秀逸而且精微細緻,所謂行筆如流水,大概就是這種筆致的表現吧! &* Chao Hsiu-lu, a native of Anhwei province, excelled at painting, especially horses. He also reportedly did a thousand paintings of bodhisattvas. In this work, a lohan holds his sleeve with his left hand. He stares at the brilliant pearl that he holds in his right hand. The waves upon which he stands are shown emanating from it, thereby making the figure appear extremely light in mid-air. The lohan’s dark moustache, beard, and bushy eyebrows stand out, giving him a luminous spirit. The drapery lines are elegant and detailed.
