盛京故宮書畫錄,第五冊,頁10&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁263-264&*故宮書畫圖錄,第五冊,頁371-372&*此圖以翠竹、白梅、山茶、百雀為主題,「百」在中國傳統習俗中代表豐富,亦是吉祥之數字;此畫描繪百雀(雀諧音爵,有爵位之意)同時出現之奇景,正如同百官前來朝拜天子,為順承天意之象。畫面下方繪有一隻變種白雀,即為吉祥瑞兆。此畫無名款,舊訂為元人所作,實屬明代中、晚期職業畫師臨仿邊文進的風格,其花木禽鳥畫法呈現純粹平面裝飾效果,並不合自然物性。&*Bamboo, white plum blossoms, camellia, and 100 sparrows are the focus of this work. The number 100 represents abundance in Chinese custom and is used for good luck. Here, "sparrows" is a homonym for "nobles", thus suggesting that 100 officials have gathered to pay respect to the emperor. Below is a white sparrow, which is an unusually good omen of fortune. This work bears neither seal nor signature of the artist. Though attributed to an anonymous Yüan artist, it actually appears to have been done by a professional painter of the middle to late Ming (1368-1644) imitating the style of Pien Wen-chin.
