石渠寶笈初編(養心殿),上冊,頁643&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁64&*故宮書畫圖錄,第四冊,頁91-92&*管道昇(西元一二六二-一三一九年),吳興人。字仲姬,趙孟頫妻。延祐四年(西元一三一七年)封魏國夫人。翰墨辭章不學而能,篤信佛法,書牘行楷與乃夫趙孟頫幾不可辨異同,為我國書畫史上著名女性作家之一。 本幅舊傳為管氏所作,畫山巒起伏,緣溪瓦屋數椽,叢竹錯落其間,溪邊泊舟,橋上行人,以水墨細緻之筆調,寫寧靜之村景,得小橋、流水、人家之詩意。&*Kuan Tao-sheng (style name Chung-chi) was the wife of the famous painter Chao Meng-fu (1254-1322) and a native of Wu-hsing. In 1319, she was enfoeffed as the Lady of the State of Wei. She was adept at calligraphy and literature despite having had no formal training. She was also a follower of Buddhism. Her running and standard script calligraphy is so much like that of her husband that they cannot be easily differentiated. She has come to be known as one of the most famous women artists in the history of Chinese painting and calligraphy. This painting, attributed to Kuan Tao-sheng, is dated to 1309 and includes mountains rising and falling, a stream, a multi-rafter tiled building, and clumps of bamboo. A boat has stopped by the stream, and a figure is seen walking over the bridge. Everything in the painting has been rendered in minute brushwork using monochrome ink. In describing the serene forested scene, Kuan Tao-sheng has truly been able to achieve the poetic feeling of a small bridge, running water, and a cottage.
