Two covered boats approach to dock nearby--one with a man reclining while holding his fishing-pole, the other also with a man reading a text with a fish-creel tied to the boat's side. Both men appear most relaxed, as if not thinking of fishing. On the bank, a village shows a wine-seller's banner. Behind the village, a complex of mountains rise, it woods concealed by mist. One peak towers on high, dominating the upper level. The brushwork is fine and tight throughout the painting. The composition has occasional gaucheries.
