內容摘要說明:Baro. 30-12. The most lovely day that could possibly be enjoyed away out at sea and in Sep. Sky clear and bright. Sea not like a mill Pone. Still blue and lovely. - All of us are up and in good spirits. Sutherland is good company. He has the Highland blood coursing through those American veins. The Americans on board are gentlemanly and kind - The French men are jolly fellows. English men are somewhat reserved. I don't see any ill feeling towards Missionaries. Are Missionaries sometimes to blame ? Wed. Antipodes Day Ther. 56?. Baro. 30-12. At noon we were at Lat. 49-67N' Long. 176-58E' Dist. 350Miles. Pretty cold weather all day. So after Dinner at 8.30 p.m. Kau-a' George' Mary Helen' went with me to see the Engines. J. Adamson' chief Engineer showed us all round - Marvellous the works of Man!
