Had a serious operation in Hos. and spoke an hour to the Patients who listened patiently all through. Read till midnight. Read letter about Mr Gauld's appointment here. Balloon(譯註:原稿為Baloon) ascension. Got a letter from Rev. D. D. MacLeod Secre. of F. M. C. stating that Mr. Gauld has been appointed my colleague to Formosa God bless' guide and bring him here in peace and safely.
