- 內容摘要說明：Baro. 30-12. Cloudy and dull. At 9 a.m. Li-Kiu' our preacher at Toa-kho-ham' came with a young man 18 years of age who has been a hearer of the Gospel for two months of so. His grand mother threatened to take Opium and commit suicide if he continued going to the chapel. The Preacher told him to exhort her. At last she was satisfied and pleased. But grand uncles combined and cut down trees at his house. - Threatened to expel him from the town. Etc' etc. On account of preparing to go on a tour to Eastern Formosa in a day or two I took him to the consulate so that if the worst came we would have proof of the injustice. Then sent the Preacher back with my card to exhort the fellows relatives. Mr. Hanson' Telegraph Operator called on me and immediately afterwards Mr. Morse Commis' Customs came to see my Museum. He is in American and very nice. Chinese General's wife etc. came on a visit. Persecu. At Toa-kho-ham.
