- 內容摘要說明：Baro. 30-10. Dense heavy fog and rain occasionally. Sent a messenger to Chiu-nih for the Preacher and Le-po (sort of village official). Declared that though he went with three Priests to the Consulate he gave the same evidence as the day. I went with him and would give precisely the same if before a Mandarin or even if beheaded because it was all true what he said-Bother these Priests' they are the same all over the world. What a charming time I would have if there were no "Cases". I must fight on though. Glad to have a spare hour or two' for Dawson's "Story of the Earth and Man"! Yesterday got "Sir Walter Scotts Journal".
