內容摘要說明:Met in the morning for prayer and praise at 10 a.m. all assembles. There were representatives from here' Sin-tiam' Kelung' Tsui-tng-kha' Sek-kha' Toa-tiu-tia' Pak-tau' Pat-li-hun' Chiu-nih' Go-ko-khi' Tho-a-hng' Sin-tsng' Sa-kak-eng' Toa-kho-ham' Lun-a-teng. Ten Elders' spoke' so A Hoa' Teng-chheng and myself…There were 116 sitting' 173 standing and 84 at the doors' besides outsiders. I bap. 11(eleven) and 165 sat at the Lord's table. We closed at 1 p.m. having a meeting of 3 hours with splendid attention. Elder A. said he worshipped God 18 years and his soul has rejoiced ever since he threw idols away. Elder B. spoke about not being a shamed of the Gospel. Elder C. said he was leader in idolatrous processions etc. and a man must have a stout heart to forsake the god's of his fathers and a zealous spirit to serve the true God etc. Elder D. told how regarding all that pertains to idol worship he was chosen head of the village and how God delivered him at critical times etc. Elder E. who was teacher and confucianist referred Acts 17:28 "As certain also of your own poets have said". I believe the Shangti in the Chinese Book of poetry is the true God. If that be so' then numerous and beautiful are the references to him…E.G. Elder F. told about his father becoming a convert first' then he followed and now he has a new born son… Elder G. exhorted members to do their duty' then expect God's blessing do like he as a farmer has to do plough' hanow' manure' weed etc. Elder H. declared that himself and family would worship our Lord until death. His father was Elder and on his death bed pleaded with the whole house hold to follow him and never to idols… Elder I. Made known his former life as village Leader' sorcerer' idolater and gambler. Spent all the money he had on the idol worshipped by all gamblers-made vows-held theatricals etc. and after all lost when playing. He clearly and pointedly portrayed the fight in his mind between two principles and came out for Christ. It was Natural-Biblical and well told. Elder J. proclaimed his former skill in Tauistic rites-vegetarian notions and magical arts.-Called on a number present to bear witness to his statements-vehemently denounced such a life and earnestly pleaded with idolaters to turn from idols and devils to serve the living God… All these Elders are respectable men and have been converts for 14 years…Three of them are the sons of Elders…A Hoa wished long robed teachers' merchants etc. to respect these hard working farmers Four Earthquakes… for silks don't make men of worth. The graduate called attention to the "Great feast" My subject was Ephe. 4:4'5'6…because there were members from the regions round about what the Elders uttered need no comment from me…This was a grand assembly…
