- 內容摘要說明：At noon off to the Hos. Dr. R. absent…Cicada… Examined large numbers of the (Huechys Sanguinea) with the mesothorax and abdomen red. Also (Fidicina atrata) large black species with transparent wings…The female has a powerful sevrated ovipositor…She cuts deep groves into the branches of trees and deposits her eggs. The larvae quickly go down into the ground and feed on the juices of roots of trees and plants. In due time they crawl up again' stick their claws in leaves etc. and by splitting the top of shell go forth to sing… The male has a sort of drum and keep up an incessant scissor grinding noise… All met in our house and we sang a full hour…
