內容摘要說明:Arose at 3 A.M. and got all ready for a start. Ang O the Preacher at Tiong-kang' and Thong-su from Sing-kang came along. We went 3 miles or so in pitch darkness along the bed of the river and turn southwards-passed through Ba-li' extracted 45 teeth and pressed on to Tang-lo-oan where we extracted teeth and preached. An old man whose son I met yesterday and for whom I removed several teeth and gave medicine for the family came into the street and took me by the arm into his little store where I sat a while then went again into the streets to preach and extract teeth and dispense medicines-Now the sun was burning hot and we moved on to Sam-chheng-o where I sat on the roadside and had dinner-We arrived at Lai-sia at 2 P.M. and to my surprise there was Rev. Mr. Thow from Taiwanfoo. We had a sweet time together and I preached in the eve. on Eceles. 12:1-7' but not the same as in other places though using the same text. O spoke also Sun-a' then Mr. Thow spoke very nicely indeed about our visit and my address. He seemed much pleased and indeed overcome. I thought of the days gone by-I must not dwell on Such though for it would make my soul Sad in a sense.-Poor People just back a few months after letting field and all to the Hak-kas for 10 years. Their houses not thatched yet. The chapel all bleak and in disorder' no benches-no desk-the people Seemed discouraged and cold compared with years ago.
