- 內容摘要說明：Oppressive heat. Met with thee Students and taught Physical Geography. Went to the col. and examined in previous Subjects taught. At 1 P.M. we all went down to the Hospital. Fully 30 or 40 old Patients were seen also about 20 new. Several Lepers amongst the number. How our poor human knowledge fails when brought face to face with such a disease! One young man 20 years of age looked so sad when told how little we could do for him. Holes were already under the big toes and one lost a joint' his face reddish in blotches and ears swollen and out of shape. Cap. Farow of a Revenue Cruiser and who was Cap. of 'Hailoong' when I landed here. Had a rough trip on board then. Heard of Li-ko-kang died last night all flags halfmast Consular too
