- 內容摘要說明：Arose before day-break and Set out for SaN-kak-eng arrived at 9:30 A.M. The students who went by boat were there a-head and stood waiting for us. I preached at once to a packed house' dispensed medicine and extracted teeth. At 3. P.M. Spoke again to a full chapel and in the eve. at 7 P.M. the building was jammed. I spoke about being asleep and not examining things for themselves-We sang for a long time and extracted many teeth. Then saw several savage boys who are Studying under a Chinaman. Called to see the family of one of our oldest convert there people pleased to see us. Lim Sui goan & Ong Po On arrival I was soon told about Lim Sui goan who threw a large stone at me right into the chapel. Though I knew all about it before. He went to the chapel and told the Preacher than he repented throwing the stone at me. He died a short time afterwards. The other was Shot by the French. I found Pang-kio-thau there at SaN-kak-eng and 3000 Soldiers encamped in the hills not far away fighting the Savages. Many submitted and others not yet. Mountain guns are being used. Called on the School for teaching the boys who were brought out from the hills. Nineteen in all. They so glad to see me. Twenty savages heads were put into vessels with lime so as to keep. what for ?
