石渠寶笈續編(寧壽宮),第五冊,頁2639&*故宮書畫錄(卷四),第二冊,頁13&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十五冊,頁71-76&*周昉(活動於西元八世紀末),善畫道釋人物仕女。此圖繪有一雙陸桌,桌內有雙陸棋盤,本為胡人遊戲,玩法以異木為盤,盤中彼此內外個有六梁,故得名。月牙凳為唐代新興家具,專為貴族婦女所坐,此凳為典型式樣。凳的四角及腿足都有精心雕飾。腿足外側是直角線,內部為曲線雕花腿,兩腿之間形成一個壺門輪廓。此凳座面為竹藤類的編織物,外型裝飾追求華麗正與唐代風尚相符合。 &*Chou Fang excelled at painting religious subjects and figures, especially women. In this painting is a double-six table, the surface of which is a game board made of fine wood. Originally, this game was played by inhabitants to the north and west of China proper. The game is played by two people using black and white game pieces, and the board is divided into inner and outer areas with six lines on either side--hence the name "double sixes." The crescent-shaped stool was a new form of furniture in the T’ang dynasty and was specifically used by figures of nobility. The piece here is a typical example. The sides and legs of the stool are intricately decorated. The legs are straight with the insides curved in floral patterns, and in between the legs are cusped openings.
