- 中文摘要:寺廟的成立是隨著移民帶來的信仰，主要和移墾社會的環境背景、以及人群特質有關係。由於寺廟是早期社會信仰和組織凝結的中心，替社會承載許多功能，也是民俗文化的重要載體。因此蘊藏在其中的建廟傳說，除了包含有寺廟本身的沿革，以及地方發展歷史的關係之外，還說明了民間信仰的重要特質，也為信徒的思想態度等，建構出豐富的訊息。本論文主要由傳說及信仰的角度來探討臺南市寺廟的建廟傳說。本文首先針對民間信仰與各時期社會發展的情況，就調查蒐集所得的建廟傳說，分以三段時期作探討，獲知臺南市建廟傳說的發展情況以及其與社會開發的相關性，並且藉由傳說類型與內容的呈現來瞭解民眾對生活的需求與及轉變。再者，就所收集到的建廟傳說，依照內容與主題加以歸納，分為三部分來說明。第一部分是以水為媒介的建廟傳說，內容上是藉由水的出現，把可能建廟的原因帶來，比如神像、王船、木材等等。第二部分是以火為媒介的建廟傳說，民間信仰中對於火、光所隱含的意象是具有能量的，可以視為神靈依附的象徵，所以也產生在內容上出現火光等來強調神明的傳說。第三部分是以靈為媒介的建廟傳說，這裡的靈指的是靈驗、顯靈的意思，民間信仰的特色之一就是強調靈驗性、以靈驗為本位，並且具有強烈的功利性，因此神明的顯靈以及神威會在傳說中被凸顯。最後由區域特性、神聖象徵、集體意識、和傳說潛在的功能來分析臺南市的建廟傳說，進而討論其背後所代表的信仰觀念、社會功能、文化意涵的變化。獲知，傳說不僅能反應社會的結構，同時也使歷史得以再現，傳說的內容作為宗教的表達，更可以將它視為社會整體的反應，清楚展現不同時期社會的需要，以及人民在過去經驗與印象的集結是所重建的歷史。
- 英文摘要:The construct of temple is the belief which brings along with the immigration, which related to immigrat society''s environment, and the crowd''s characteristic. Because the temple is a center which the early society belief and the organization congeals, it bearing many functions and the popular belief. Therefore contains in among constructs the temple fable, has temple itself the evolution, as well as place development history relations, but also explained the folk belief, important special characteristic and so on. The present paper mainly discusses the fable of temple in Tainan city and the belief point of view to construct the temple fable.This article first discuss on the investigation of temple fable, with the folk belief on various times society divides by three sections. I’ll learned the development of temple fable in Tainan city, and its relevance with the society. We can understand the populace by knowing the presents of fable type.Furthermore, according to the content and the subjects, divide the temple fables into three parts. The first part is the temple fable take the water as the medium, in the content is the affiliation by the water appearance, brings the possible reason , for example of a god or buddha, Wang Ch''uan, lumber and so on. The second part is the temple fable take the fire as the medium, in the folk belief the image of the fire has the energy, may regard as the God symbol. The third part is the temple fable take the spirit as the medium, the spirit here is effective, the gods manifest a spirit and the invincible might be obvious in the fable.Finally analyzes the fable of temple construction in Tainan city by the region characteristic, the hallowed symbol, collective consciousness, and the latent function, then discusses the change behind the belief idea, the social function, cultural value. We may learn the fable not only can respond social structure, meanwhile enables the history to reappear. Contents of the fable are expression of religious, may also regard as the social response, displays the needs of different times, and the history that people built up.
