英文摘要:The picture books within children’s literature have become popular reading volumes for recent years. Therefore, the researcher chose the volumes of “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books” from the Yuan-Liu magazine as the research subject. Furthermore, one the one hand, Taiwanese have cared about the topics for Taiwan; on the other hand, being Taiwanese citizens, we own the feelings of identity with folk stories, which comprise an important part of Taiwanese culture. Moreover, concerning the wisdom, culture and tribal characteristics left by our ancestors, “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books” encourage the younger generations to identify themselves with the ancestral culture as well as to make children produce a state of mind loving our provinces, land, and country by touching Taiwanese culture. The contents of this thesis are listed as follows: Chapter One: This chapter includes the research motivation, objectives, methods, and procedures. Chapter Two: This chapter contains the development of Taiwanese children’s picture books and the meanings of the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. First of all, the study introduces the development of Taiwanese children’s picture books. Next, it explores the formation and transformation. Last, it poses the traits of Taiwanese folk stories as well as the meanings of the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. Chapter Three: This chapter investigates the techniques of the words in the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. The first part of the study examines the skills of the simple language, which includes the rhyme of folk songs, exercising the modifiers to increase the fun of the stories as well as the usage of the rhetoric questions to stimulate children’s analytical ability. Also, the second part of it investigates the contents of the stories by using the figures, which were shaped directly and indirectly. Besides, the third part explores the characteristics of the stories by means of describing the plots and structures. Chapter Four: This chapter explores the pictures shown in the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. Part One arrays the contents combining the pictures with the texts. In addition, Part Two analyzes the molding of the models and roles. Furthermore, Part Three classifies the whole volume systematically and examines the features of the colors. Chapter Five: This chapter investigates the traits of the cultures in the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. Firstly, this chapter discusses the viewpoints of the value, faiths, and customs. Secondly, it also examines the readers of the volume of “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. Thirdly, the study examines the distribution of the Taiwanese tribes in the “Taiwanese Folk Story Picture Books”. Chapter Six: This chapter explains the value of its publishing as well as it future prospectus.
