英文摘要:The purpose of this paper is to discuss the interact relationship of the Wenchang cult and local society in Taiwan during Qing Dynasty to Japanese Colonial Period, and also explores the development of the Wenchang cult and its shifting reasons under different regimes . This thesis is organized as follows. First of all, this study is verified that the deity pedigree development of the divine lord of Wenchang and the meaning of cults merged. Moreover, it focused on considering that the Wenchang cult gradually formed the images of diversification and the activities of regional difference in folk society. Secondly, the researcher probed into the causes of origin, prosperity, and decline of the Wenchang cult in Taiwan during Qing Dynasty to Japanese Colonial Period, as well as showed its organizations, ceremonies, activities, customs and characteristics of the Wenchang cult in Taiwan. Finally, this paper solved the problem of Street-market society forming in Si-zhang-li. On the other hand, this study analyzed the divine lord of Wenchang which role acted in the local society, furthermore, it also considered that the changes of the Wenchang cult and local society under different regimes. Besides, the researcher illustrated the interaction of local elites and the Wenchang cult organizations in Si-zhang-li.
