This study takes content analysis, document analysis and interview as the major measures. We are aimed at analyzing the three different version textbooks of social studies, including Kang-Sheng, Nan-I and Hang-Lin version. From quantitative analysis, we find although the ratio of contents about folk belief in the different version textbooks is not the same, they are all inclined to introduce the Han people’s folk belief and they are present as festival or custom style. In the direction of qualitative analysis, we review these textbooks from four different points of view, including the concept of folk belief, introduction of multi-culture, presentation of multi-religion and subject matter of illustration. We survey all the contents of the textbooks and assignments, including text and illustration, and intend to point out the character of makeup in these textbooks. Finally, we advance some suggestion for these textbook revising, selecting, teaching and local education developing. We also hope this research will provide preliminary information for further study in this project.
