- 中文摘要:磚雕的裝飾藝術，在臺灣傳統建築中被稱作「磚雕」或「磚刻」，是較少被論及的裝飾藝術。在傳統磚雕實例中，以臺灣中部的傳統民居案例最為精美，其中以「摘星山莊」深具特色，故以摘星山莊的磚雕作為調查研究的對象。 面對著磚雕工藝逐漸的沒落式微，傳統工匠技藝也漸漸凋零失傳，本研究也藉由摘星山莊的磚雕形式與技藝工法的探討，重新了解磚雕在傳統工藝的地位價值，藉以探討介紹臺灣磚雕的裝飾文化。期望能從磚雕的運用手法，了解到磚雕藝術對臺灣傳統民間建築的影響。 本研究蒐集摘星現有的磚雕形式類別，分析其在傳統建築裝飾上的意涵，從中了解先民生活文化與藝術的結合。並以摘星的磚雕進行調查紀錄，化繁為簡深入研究磚雕的技藝工法，以期待能賦予新的發展形式，讓磚雕不隨時間而消逝。
- 英文摘要:The artistical decoration of brick carving has rarely been discussed in the traditional Taiwan architecture. Of actual cases of the traditional brick carving, those constructions in central Taiwan are the finest ones. Among them , Chai-Hsing Villa is especially characterised. Therefore, we have chosen it as the object of our investigational research. Due to the gradual downfall of brick carving architecture, the traditional craft has also declined and ceased to exist as well by and by.Thru research of brick carving forms and architectural crafts, this research aims to revaluate the position and value of brick carving in the traditional architecture, and to introduce the decoration culture of brick carving in Taiwan, and also tries to understand the influence of brick carving on the vernacular architecture in Taiwan, by studying means of application of brick carving. This research collects types of the existing brick carving in Chai-Hsing Villa, and analysis the signification of brick carving in vernacular architecture. The research also investigates records of brick carving of Chai-Hsing Villa, and simplifies them to study brick carving crafts, so that we can provide new development and keep brick carving from fading away with time.
