- 中文摘要:紙錢，是漢人社會之特有產物，在民間信仰中深具其不可忽視之角色地位，舉凡日常生活中的歲時節令或在生命禮儀的不同階段中，都可見到紙錢的廣範使用。不同種類的紙錢，敬獻給不同的祭祀對象，從中我們再次驗證漢人對於整個神靈體系的認知，以及人們是如何將凡間的階層體系觀念投射於不可見的神靈世界。 紙錢被使用的主要目的除了作為「答謝」神靈的「禮物」之外，從另一方面來說，無疑也是漢人祈福懹禍的重要媒介之一。甚至可因不同的使用目的，而將單一種類的紙錢透過儀式性的轉化程序，而成為多用途的象徵媒介體。 本文首先以文獻資料的調查收集，獲知金銀紙錢在台灣的發展情況以及在民間信仰中的角色地位，並且藉由不同時代的資料分析比對，進一步了解在台灣以及台南市金銀紙業的演變以及消長過程。 另外，本文藉由田野調查，以保留較多傳統信仰習俗活動之台南市為研究範圍，整理目前漢人對於紙錢的使用方法與習慣，以了解紙錢在漢人日常生活中所扮演的角色，並呈現人們如何透過紙錢的選擇使用將心中的祈願傳達于不同世界的神靈，以及如何在紙錢的顏色、使用排列、紙錢焚燒空間的區別上，實踐其所認知的神靈體系。同時，本文並紀錄目前台南市所使用的兩種紙錢製作過程，以及所採集到的紙錢圖案印模。 最後，藉由新型式紙錢的出現以及紙錢種類的變化消長，並以霍布斯「被創造的傳統」的理論進而討論其背後所代表的信仰觀念、文化意涵的變化。
- 英文摘要:Ritual bill is a special thing in the Han’s environment. It plays a significant role in the popular belief. For example, we can see the broad use of ritual bill in our regular festival or each life de passage phase. We can realize the Han’s cognitive about all the structure of celestial being and their method to put the concept of class to the invisible celestial being again from different ritual bill to different rituality target. Expect the main usage as a gift to express thanks to celestial being. Undoubtedly, ritual bill is an important way for the Han to beg a good fortune and disperse the disaster from another point of view. They can even transform a signal kind of ritual bill into multi-function symbol media by use of the ceremonial transform process because of different purpose. In the thesis, I’ll first acquire the mature status of ritual bill in Taiwan and the role in the popular belief base on my research from bibliography and I’ll get more understand about the change and conversion in Taiwan and Tainan by use of cross-reference between different era, Furthermore, I had collect the Han’s usage and habit about the ritual bill by use of field investigate in the Tainan area that had reserve many traditional belief and convention to know the role of ritual bill in Han’s life and present the use of different kinds of ritual bill to different celestial being to express their different wish and present how to use different kinds of color, arrangement and burning area of ritual bill to realize the structure of celestial being. Besides, I had record two kinds of production flow about ritual bill and all figure of ritual bill that I had collect in my research into my thesis. Finally, I’ll discuss the change of belief, concept and culture from the emergence of new style ritual bill and the change of ritual bill together with Eric Hobsbawm’s theory of “invented tradition“.
