- 中文摘要:大村鄉所在區域由於位處彰化平原的邊緣且為非政治教化的中心，自古以來即是一個典型農村聚落。綜觀文獻史料記載，鮮少見對於其聚落的開發與沿革作一番深入性的描述與探討。事實上就大村鄉的開發而言，最早可以追溯至清領初期，在當時即是一個很大的聚落，然而翻閱文獻史料記載僅止於對其概括性的陳述且資料相當零散。因此本文特以大村鄉聚落發展及其生活方式變遷作為此次研究的焦點，期盼能建構出大村鄉在地的人文風俗，並且提供日後鄉土教學活動教材的參考資料。 本文是以早期移墾社會中所形成的聚落做為研究的範疇，探討在移民拓墾社會的歷史洪流之下，大村鄉聚落的發展及其鄉民生活方式的變遷。本文欲探究的研究目的有下列三點： 1、以時間的歷史脈絡做為分期，分別探討在三個時期（清領時期、日治時期、光復至今）宗族與聚落發展的關聯性以及歷史的演變。 2、探討大村鄉鄉民的宗教信仰文化。 3、探討大村鄉產業型態的變遷與經濟生活的轉變。
- 英文摘要:Dacun Township, located in the outskirt of Changhua Plain, is neither a political nor educational center for it has been a typical rural settlement since old days.In-depth descriptions and discussions about the development and evolution of this place have been rare in historical archives; in fact, the origin of its development can be traced back to the Ching Dynasty when it was a large settlement.Therefore, the research focuses on the settlement development and inhabitants of living styles of Dacun Township, in order to construct the materials of local culture for the reference of homeland teaching in the future. This study, within the range of settlement in the early immigrant society, discusses the settlement development and inhabitants of living styles of Dacun Township from historical viewpoint.The purposes of this study are as follows： 1、To discuss the correlation between family and settlement development as well as historical evolution in the three phases (Ching Dynasty, Japanese domination, and Taiwanese Retrocession to now) from chronological time division. 2、To research into the local residents custom in religious belief. 3、To study the change of the industrial patterns and economic activities in Dacun Township.
