- 中文摘要:本研究之主要目的，以苗栗客家族群源起和發展的角度切入，探討苗栗客家火旁龍之傳統文化精神與內涵，瞭解苗栗客家火旁龍的發展現況，提出文化活動省思及維護發揚之具體建議。 本研究採用文獻分析法與田野調查法，經資料閱讀、分析、整理和歸納，輔以觀察和訪談，綜合歸結與詮釋，研究結果如下： 一、客家是漢族的一支，歷經遷徙而逐漸形成。 二、苗栗客家族群的開墾，主要是在清乾隆時期，由廣東地區進入苗栗， 延續至今。而苗栗也是客家人數多於閩南人數的縣市。 三、苗栗客家火旁龍的確切起源已不可考。推論是由大陸地區隨客家遷徙而傳入苗栗。在台灣最早可追溯到頭屋新光織布廠的火旁龍過程。 四、苗栗客家火旁龍，包括：糊龍、祥龍點睛、迎龍、跈龍、火旁龍，以及化龍返天等六大主題。 五、苗栗客家火旁龍包含了文化傳承、感恩祈福、身體活動、團結凝聚、遊戲取樂等意涵。需要從自家人做起，組織相關協會，接觸和喜愛這項文化活動，進而善盡維護的工作。 六、由教育單位著手進行紮根工作，並由政府協助活動的舉辦，並加入 創意色彩，行銷火旁龍活動，以發揚火旁龍文化。
- 英文摘要:The purposes of this research are to find the origin and development of Hakka; dig out the meaning and content of Miaoli Burst Dragon; and understand the state of Miaoli Burst Dragon. Furthermore, propose some reflections of culture and objective suggestions for Maoli Burst Dragon. The approaches of this research are employed by document study and field study. Make a comprehensive survey with data collection, integration, analysis and interview method. The conclusions of this research is as following: 1.Hakka is a part of Han Race. It is formed by lasting migration . 2.Hakka in Miaoli came from Guangdong during Qianlong period.Hakka race in Miaoli is bigger than Fujian race now. 3.The certain origin of Burst Dragon is unknow. It should be moved with Hakka form Mainland China .The earlest sight is Burst Dragon activity at Xin-Guang Weaving company in Tou Wu. 4.Burst Dragon contain making dragon, draw eyes, dragon dancing, dragon following, bursting dragon and going back. 5.The meaning of Burst Dragon is culture reserve ,thanksgiving, unity-criticism-unity, seeking good luck, physical activity, playing for fun, etc. We have to do the job in saving this culture by ourselves, 6.With education and government help , add new factor to market Burst Dragon and it will spread and flourish.
