英文摘要:In Heng Chun the Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong activities are the most important ones, second only to the Zhong Yuen Pu Du activities. The Chiang-Ku Su Ku Pong activities go back to the old days where food, originally destined to be offered to the Gods, is distributed among the poor the next day. These actions symbolize and emphasize the spirit of Zjren (仁)which stands for sympathy and empathy. The purpose of this research is to find the origins of Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong activities in Heng Chun, its development through the years, its context, as well as finding the means to preserve these activities by projecting them into the future. In order to properly investigate available documents and relative information regarding Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong, there are three approaches of this research: historical research, document analyses and field study, to be followed by proper analyses of the collected data, debate and correction. The conclusions are as following: 1.At the time of the migration of Min-Nan to the Heng Chun region their religious culture was brought with them. Part of this culture was the Chiang-Ku custom of sacrificing food to the gods in front of the Fu-De-Gong temple in order to feel safe. However, poor people outside Heng Chun would come to take the food in a chaotic way, creating disorder and conflict. In order to avoid any further disturbances the Heng Chun Min-Nan later agreed on the fair and organized distribution of the sacrificed food in front of the Fu-De-Gong temple in Heng Chun town the day after the proceedings. This was called Su-Ku-Pong. 2.Today the Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong activities have moved from the era of giving and grabbing food to an event that is all about sports and cultural activities. It improves the social foundations and offers entertainment and leisure. It is also a welcome boost to the local economy and a way for the local authorities to show their goodwill toward the community. Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong symbolizes the inheritance of wisdom from the ancestors. It reminds people of the importance of giving to the needy, the way of Zjren (仁)and the respect and fear for gods and ghosts. This is the real meaning of Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong. 3.In these modern times the Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong faces the challenge of keeping up with today’s culture and peoples changing interests. The question now lies in front of us what changes can be made to take this event safely into the future.First, we need to find back the original meaning of this event and rebuild its essence. For this we will need the help of the government and the cooperation of the people. We will have to combine and effectuate all resources in order to preserve this important cultural asset.Another suggestion would be to focus on the traditional game called Chiang-Ku, in combination with local culture representation. Furthermore it should be a priority to increase the size of this event, thereby changing this event in a Chiang-Ku Su-Ku-Pong cultural tourist attraction. It would become a typical Heng Chun festival, where the people of Heng Chun can showcase all their qualities and specialties. This event would bring together the dimensions of Heaven, Earth and Hell, and allow for a venue for them to celebrate together. This event would create unlimited possibilities for the Heng Chun economy and improve the development of arts and culture in the region by attracting tourists from all over the country.
