The species is commonly found near human habitation. In the past, they were only recorded at Wang-an in Penghu but in recent years, many specimens have been collected from Kenting in Pingtung, Jhushan in Nantou, the NMNS Botanical Garden and Tunghai University campus in Taichung City, Wufeng in Taichung County and Fangyuan in Changhua.
