故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁167&* 冊頁作品,幅度不大,像本幅為一尺左右是很常見的。服小的作品,有人精工,有人疏放,因為畫家隨機應變,唯因一冊多頁,利於就一主題,作各種不同子題之描繪。 如本幅即「無名氏畫花鳥」冊第五開,畫鸜鵒一對,停立於高枝上,畫法屬於小寫意之一種。用筆、用墨均不急不徐,構圖偏置於右下一角,雖簡而不疏。 &*Crested Mynas Anonymous Undated Painting This work, albeit small, is typically the size of most album leaves. In paintings of this scale, artists can take one of several approaches: they can strive to create carefully wrought, detailed brushwork, or they can opt for looser handling of ink. As one album may contain many leaves, the artist is given the opportunity to develop one theme in many different directions. This particular leaf is the fifth from the album Anonymous Flower and Bird Paintings. The artist has adopted a free interpretation of resemblance in limning this pair of mynas on their lofty perch.
