- 中文說明:檳榔臼是老年人牙齒不好無法咀嚼檳榔，把檳榔與調味料，如石灰等在皿內?碎後嚼嘗檳榔汁。本件文物小臼和杵齊全，杵為一鐵棒，可將檳榔杈碎。臼為木質。為民國初年的產品。
- 日文說明:歯の悪い年寄りは檳榔を噛めないので、檳榔と調味料、例えば石灰などを臼の中で砕いて、檳榔汁を飲む。この品は小臼と杵が揃っていて、杵は一本の鉄棒で檳榔を砕く。臼は木質。民初年代の品。
- 英文說明:This wooden mortar was used by elderly people to grind betel nuts. Betel nuts and seasonings such as lime were added. When the nuts were ground it was not necessary to chew. Both the mortar and pestle of this item are intact. The pestle is iron, making it suitable for grinding betel nuts. This item dates to the early 1900's.
