英文說明:This doorknob is made of copper. Most such doorknobs consisted of two hoops which were fixed to the right and left sides of a double door. When the door was shut, both hoops came together in the center. These hoops were used both to close the door and as a sort of door knocker. The main entrance of a family compound would have door rings made of copper or iron. This example is from the late Qing dynasty or the early years of the ROC. This door knob is inscribed with trigram patterns and has lucky symbols around the edges. This decoration served to ward off evil.
