故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁161&*故宮書畫圖錄,第二十八冊,頁304-309&*劉松年,淅江錢塘人,居清波門外,人呼劉清波,又呼暗門劉。南宋孝宗淳熙初畫院學生,紹熙年間(一一九○—一一九四)畫院待詔、師張訓禮,工畫人物、山水,神氣清妙,時稱絕品。 水閣內二人對坐交談,童子隨侍後側。殘柳上薄覆白雪,樹葉染以汁綠和朱磦等色,蓋繪雪霽春融,柳橋水閣之溪岸景緻。本幅畫筆溫婉,設色雅澹,淹有明人風尚,雖款題為劉松年,當係後人托名之作。 本幅為「宋元明人合璧」冊第一開。&*Liu Sung-nien was a native of Ch'ien-t'ang in Chekiang Provice, and later lived outside of the Ch'ing-p'o gate resulting in his common appelations Liu Ch'ing-p'o and Liu of the Shadowy Gate. He was a student in the Imperial Painting Acadmy of the Hsiao-tsung emperor (reigned 1163-1189) of the Southern Sung Period. In the early 1190s he became a painter-in-attendance in the Academy where his meticulous figrure paintings and landscapes in the manner of his teacher Chang Hsun-li were praised as masterpieces. Inside the waterside pavilion two men sit engaged in conversation while a servant boy waits in attendance at one side. A fine layer of snow dusts the branches of the old, arching willows, and light green and vermilion pigments describe the leaves of the trees in this scene of the melting spring snow at the Willow Bridge Pavilion. The brushwork in this painting is gentle and pleasant, and the colors are quiet and refined. It is thoroughly imbued with the manner of Ming dynasty paintings, so although it is signed with Liu Sung-nien's name, it is in fact the work of a later artist. This album is the first leaf in the album, “Collected Jewels of Sung, Yuan and Ming Painting”.
