故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁162&* 朱璨英(活動於西元十九世紀中葉),生卒年不詳,字五峰。此幅以沒骨寫生法畫紅杏滿枝,用筆流暢,設色兼得雅致與鮮麗之趣。其構圖意念依扇面邊緣弧線延伸,選景去繁取簡,疏密有致,自有一種雍容綽約的情調。 畫上有一小段跋:「壬午(西元一八二二年)寫唐人詩意,為少渠二兄大人屬。南邨朱璨英。」可知此圖乃為友人少渠先生所作。畫上左下角所鈐「夢盡落花閒」,印文與繪畫本身頗能呼應。 本幅為「藝林清賞」冊第七開。 &*Apricot Blossoms Chu Ts’an-ying (act. mid-19th cent.) Ch’ing Dynasty There are very few details concerning the biography of Chu Ts’an-ying (style name Wu-feng). In this painting, Chu Ts’an-ying has used the boneless method (mo-ku) to paint from life a branch full of apricot blossoms. The brushwork is lively, and the colors are both elegant and bright. Chu Ts’an-ying utilized the elongated format of the fan, adopting a simplified rather than a complicated composition. There are both sparse and dense areas which are combined to produce a graceful and delicate scene. There is a short inscription on the painting which reads, “In 1822 I have painted the poetic ideas of T’ang poets for His Excellency Shao-chu. Chu Ts’an-ying of Nan-ts’un.” From this inscription it is clear that Chu Ts’an-ying painted this for his friend, Messr.Shao-chu. The seal “Meng-chin lo-hua-hsien” in the lower part of the painting complements the rest of the composition. This painting is the seventh leaf in the album Yi-lin ch’ing-shang.
